“Crawl” (2019)

“Crawl” is a gripping, high-stakes creature feature that blends intense survival drama with nail-biting horror. Directed by Alexandre Aja, the film follows Haley, a young woman played by Kaya Scodelario, who ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father during a devastating hurricane in Florida.

Trapped in the rapidly flooding crawl space under her family’s house, Haley must not only contend with the rising waters, but also a group of massive, predatory alligators that have invaded the submerged home. As the situation grows increasingly dire, Haley must use all of her wits and physical strength to outsmart the vicious apex predators and find a way to escape the terrifying confines of the crawl space.

Featuring stellar performances, inventive camerawork that heightens the claustrophobic tension, and some genuinely thrilling, pulse-pounding alligator attack sequences, “Crawl” delivers a white-knuckle thriller that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
